The first morning in October, the Boston University Men's Crew Team trekked out into the cold to the DeWolfe Boathouse for rowing practice. Once out on the water, Coach Tom Bohrer encouraged the boys to "listen to the boat," while Olympic rower and team captain, Meindert Klem, kept the team on track.

The beginning...

My senior year in high school, I traveled to the Hashemite Kingdom of Amman, Jordan through a Project Harmony student exchange program funded by the U.S. Department of State and the United Palestinian Appeal in Washington D.C.

The Media Efficiency and Democracy In Action (MEDIA) Program was implemented to encourage communication between American adolescents and Palestinian/Jordanian teenagers. "Overcoming Stereotypes" became one of the main themes of the trip, as everyone involved with the program was challenged to rise above religious and cultural differences.
